In 1983, while watching Master Hoodmaker Dennis Maynes make hoods at his parents place he made a hood similar to this for my very first Red-tail Hawk. I still have that hood and of course the pattern. We have since updated the pattern a bit but all the features of that original Maynes hood remains.
It is a blocked hood that is more in the Indian
Tradition than Anglo. Its wide eye bulges offer enough room for all
hawks and falcons and the "Back Tongue"
eliminates any "pinching" that braces can and sometimes do,
especially Gortex.
All sizes are available and come with Web-Lon braces. Brush Horse
Hair available in white, brown or black.
